Plumbing invoice template

A good plumbing invoice removes every reason to delay payment. It shows exactly what was done, what it cost, and how to pay — today. Use this template for repair calls, installs, and emergency work.

What a plumbing invoice should include

  • Business name, license number, logo, and contact info
  • Invoice number and date
  • Customer name and the service address
  • Itemized labor and parts (with quantities)
  • Any trip, emergency, or after-hours fee, stated plainly
  • Deposit applied (if collected) and the remaining balance
  • Taxes and the total due
  • Payment terms (due on receipt) and a way to pay online
  • Warranty terms on the work performed

Itemize labor and parts separately

Lumping everything into one number invites questions and slows payment. Separate lines for labor and each part show the value of the work and make the invoice easy to approve. It also makes warranty and insurance claims far simpler.

Invoice on-site, get paid on-site

Plumbing is often urgent — the customer is relieved the problem is fixed and most willing to pay right then. Send the invoice before you leave and let them pay by card or bank transfer on the spot. Every day you wait, that willingness fades.

Protect yourself on emergency work

For emergency and after-hours calls, state the call-out fee up front and capture approval before work begins. A clear, pre-approved invoice is your best defense against a payment dispute.
